![]() It’s laughter, adventure and romance and fun. It’s trains and rain and bits of sunshine, with pea and duffel coats and scarfs and gloves. Life here in London so very often feels like brick walls and lamp posts. This day in particular was a trip out to Windsor Castle to see the Queen’s home in all its grandeur, to picnic with friends and try some famous German pretzels. Of course no post is complete without some photos and these few really seem to sum up our every day in London. I’m so glad you enjoyed seeing a bit of our lives this year. Thank you to all of you who followed along and left me lovely comments and encouragement. ![]() The time spent photographing my boys and our lives really was well spent. I really am so very proud of how far I got and what I was able to achieve in those weeks. Each week I promised myself that I’d get it together for the next week’s post yet here I am on New Years Eve scrambling to put together one last post, a goodbye to my incomplete project. There was always an intention to share the photos I’ve captured while here. It also meant the death of my Friday project. One that has led to wonderful experiences and a whole new life here in the United Kingdom. The last three months of 2012 have been a journey for us McCalls. Well, I think it’s about time to admit the, umm, “end” of my 52 Friday project. So here I am, determined to again document this hectic, poignant, exciting life I am so lucky to live. They’re funny and kind, they work hard and play hard, they laugh and they sometimes stink and they still make my heart flutter. Those Friday posts are so precious to me now and I’d like to start this year’s blogging journey similarly, with a simple timestamp of who my boys are today, how they look, and how they love. It was a period of growth for me as a photographer, big changes for us as a family and a visual timeline of my children’s everyday lives and their evolutions that I’ll always have to look back on. I’m so very thankful to now have an archive of an exciting and adventurous year. Over the last few days I’ve taken the time to browse through reliving that year, often grinning to myself as I sifted through the posts and images I shared. This year, I would love to document and share some of our personal lives, much like I did with my 52 Friday project in 2012. Right? And even though the blog is sadly outdated, I’ve got to start sometime and somewhere. I think it’s fitting that I’m kicking things off now, almost exactly two years later. Thanks to his foresight, we can present to you the entire photographic record of this long standing personal development program.Gasp… I’m dusting off the good ol’ blog! As you can see the last post was *cough* January 2013. Gordon Harris, of Harris Music Shop started a tradition of purchasing and displaying the portraits of the previous years' queens and the newly crowned Miss Penticton in his store window during peach festival. The following portraits of the years' royalty have been done by several local photographers. This title was chosen by her parents from the names of three popular peach varieties - Valiant, Veteren and Vedette. The first Peach Queen was Beverley Ann Young. Each year, Miss Penticton and her two Princesses act as ambassadors for the city of Penticton to communities as far away as Calgary, Spokane and Seattle. The Miss Penticton program affords the young candidates training opportunities in personal growth and development through scheduled courses including attitude, etiquette, motivation, public speaking, politics, time and stress management, cosmetics, modelling and the Super Host program.
